Transience – World Premiere, Conducted by Kristiina Poska

On 10 July 2025, a new work by Estonian composer Elis Hallik, titled Transience, will be premiered at St. John’s Church (Jaani kirik) in Tartu, as part of the Klaaspärlimäng Festival. The performance will be given by Klaaspärlimäng Sinfonietta, conducted by Kristiina Poska.

Written for string orchestraTransience reflects on the passage of time and the impermanence of form. The music unfolds through quiet gestures, fragile textures, and subtle harmonic changes that never fully settle. Nothing remains for long—musical material rises, fades, and gives way to something else.

There is no solo voice. The ensemble acts as a single, breathing instrument, often translucent in tone and rhythmically restrained.

The work continues Hallik’s interest in writing music that listens inward, focusing on structure, silence, and atmosphere.
