ELIS HALLIK: Born in Waves
Hallik’s debut album, Born in Waves, released by the renowned Austrian label Kairos, offers a profound exploration of sound and its many dimensions. This collection introduces listeners to nine chamber works spanning nearly a decade of her creative journey, each piece reflecting Hallik’s unique voice shaped by her studies in Estonia and France, as well as her engagement with spectral and electronic music.
The album presents a rich and nuanced sonic world where pure and distorted sound meet, extended playing techniques bring unexpected textures to life, and timbre and harmony emerge as central structural elements.
From Hallik:
“Sound has always been at the heart of my work – its purity, its distortion, its ability to evoke something beyond words.”
